Rust guide

How Much Upkeep Does a Rust Base Need?

Estimate daily upkeep and work out what the tool cupboard needs before you log off.

Patch 2026.07 · Updated 2026-07-11

Upkeep depends on the number and grade of building pieces inside the tool cupboard range. Save the base once, then enter the number of offline days you need to cover.

Count building pieces

Use full building-block equivalents. Doors, deployables, and loose resources are not part of this profile.

Keep grades separate

Stone, sheet metal, and armored pieces draw different resources, so combining them into one total hides the real cupboard requirement.

Leave a buffer

The result is a planning estimate. Add room for upgrades, repairs, and any pieces placed after the profile was saved.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Does Rust upkeep use the same resource as the building grade?

Yes. Wood uses wood, stone uses stones, sheet metal uses metal fragments, and armored pieces use high quality metal.

Can I save more than one raid target?

Yes. Raid and defense tools can create, rename, switch, and delete separate target profiles in this browser.
